Client newsletters
Background
The Buyouts division of private equity firm 3i is the company’s largest business line, with a global network of connections. The business had identified the need to grow closer to its most important contacts and wanted to develop a regular newsletter as one element of its communications programme.
Challenge
Whilst the intended audience was small in number, it was crucial in importance and diverse in nature. The challenge was to create a publication that built intimacy, had widespread appeal and would find its way to the top of busy people’s reading lists.
What I Did
I conducted extensive research within the Buyouts division and among the intended audience, and devised a contents listing that would carry broad appeal. The writing was concise and engaging, designed to convey valuable insights in bite-sized chunks. With a high quality of design and emphasis on ‘white space’, the publication, Buyouts Preview, delighted its target audience, who gave it very high ratings in the subsequent survey.
In a similar vein…
The success of Buyouts Preview was used to inform development of a sister publication, Intouch, which conveys messages from across the 3i Group to an international audience of 6,000 people.
